A elegant new Japanese restaurant is planning to open in Coconut Grove this fall. It’s called Seiya.
Seiya will be opening on the 8th floor of the Arya Hotel & Suites, located at 2889 McFarlane Road.
That’s the same address with the buzzy new AVA MediterrAegean restaurant right next door to the hotel on the ground floor.
Seiya bills itself as “Nikkei Alterno” – or a different kind of Japanese featuring dishes prepared with “Japanese precision and global soul.”
The restaurant is being led by Chef Seiya Noborikawa.
While the full Seiya menu hasn’t been revealed yet, the restaurant has teased some of its key dishes on social media.

This includes the Zakuro Steak – a tenderly cooked steak with pomegranate honey, wasabi butter, and crispy shallots; and the Aspar-Akami – a blue fin tuna dish served with asparagus crema, cardamon, and nutmeg.
Stay tuned for an opening date – we’re told the Chef and his team are getting close.
