We have new details about an upcoming Mexican restaurant in Coral Gables – a story first reported exclusively here on The Burn Miami.
Last month, we told readers about Azul Modern Mexican coming to 127 Miracle Mile. That’s the former home of Kao Sushi & Grill.
Now, the parties involved have formally announced the plans.
“We want Azul to be more than just a restaurant,” said Franklin and Alondra Andrade, owners and operators of Azul Modern Mexican Cuisine. “Our vision is to transport our guests to a different part of Mexico through our food, atmosphere, hospitality and the culture we bring to the space. For those with a connection to Mexico, we hope Azul evokes a feeling of home, while giving everyone who walks through our doors the opportunity to experience and appreciate the warmth, traditions and beauty of Mexican culture.”
The deal was negotiated by Colliers Executive Vice President Jonathan Carter and Senior Vice President Pablo Camposano on behalf of landlord Ryan Kaplan. Meanwhile, Adriano Gonzalez, Managing Broker at Miami Gables Realty, represented the Andrades.
Azul’s owners already have two Mexican restaurants over in the Fort Myers area.
We’re told the menu at the new Azul in the Gables will be similar to their other restaurants with dishes such as ceviches, enchiladas, fajitas, quesadillas, street tacos, nachos, and more.
As far as a target opening, the Andrades say they are aiming for sometime this coming fall.
