A new (but not so new) pizza joint is getting ready to start up operations in downtown Coral Gables. We’re talking about the arrival of the Pizza Bear.
As The Burn Miami first reported last month, Pizza Bear is a new pizza restaurant coming to 1831 Ponce de Leon Boulevard.
Now, the Pizza Bear team has announced the restaurant’s opening date – it’s scheduled for this upcoming Friday, August 21.
We still haven’t seen a final menu for the new establishment, but we know its specialty is sourdough pizza pies with all types of toppings.
We said the brand was “not so new” because Pizza Bear has been around for several years in various incarnations including appearing as a pop-up pizza purveyor at area events.
Now, they are going the brick-and-mortar route with a storefront location in the Gables starting Friday.
