A new Meli Frozen Yogurt shop is headed to the area where the Gables meets South Miami, bringing a new sweet treat to the area.
Meli is going into the space at 6601 South Red Road that used to be the home to The Hollywood Donut Factory.
That’s immediately adjacent to a 3 Chefs and a Chicken restaurant at the intersection of Red Road and South Dixie.
The exterior got a new paint job recently with stripes and a big star – and now we know it’s a Meli going into the space.
Meli specializes in froyo with no added sugars, touting it as a healthier way to satisfy your sweet tooth.
They usually offer a tart frozen yogurt plus a rotating flavor and then a variety of toppings and sauces can be added.
The brand already has a location in Miami Shores which opened last November to rave reviews. Now it’s south Gables and South Miami’s turn.
According to Meli’s social media, opening day is going to be next Tuesday, September 1.
