The elegant European-style restaurant Babette has unveiled its new location – after surprising fans with the recent announcement that it was moving out of Coral Gables.
As The Burn Miami reported a week ago, Babette announced it was closing its location at 301 Alcazar Avenue in the Gables after roughly two years in business.
The owners – Chef Daniel “Dani” Chávez-Bello and his wife, Alexandra Oliveros – teased at the time that they would be moving to a new address and starting service in September.
Now we know that the new location is at 5855 Sunset Drive in South Miami.
That address may sound familiar – it’s been the home of Clásica Victoria, a bakery and cafe, since 2022.
It turns out that Babette and Clásica Victoria are teaming up to share a space.
Clasica Victoria will continue with its morning and lunchtime hours. Then each evening, Babette will take over the space and serve its artisan dishes.
“By day, Clásica Victoria continues exactly as it always has,” the announcement read. “By night, Tuesday through Saturday from 6 p.m., the room transforms and Babette takes over. Victoria owns the morning. Babette owns the night.”
Babette will begin service at its new South Miami location starting this coming Friday, September 4.
