Last week, we gave readers a sneak peek inside the new Ami Ami “cultural cafe” in downtown Coral Gables – and now the team there has officially opened its doors.
As The Burn Miami has been reporting since last summer, Ami Ami is a new restaurant and cafe at 318 Miracle Mile that also doubles as a small art gallery and a bookstore.
Art from local artists fills the walls – including amazing photographs from Dushan Drakalski who is one of the owners of Ami Ami.
And one wall has a large bookshelf filled with hundreds of titles – perfect for the casual browser.
The menu at Ami Ami is Mediterranean with dashes of other European cuisines mixed in – most notably flammkuchen, a type of savory flatbread beloved in the Alsace region of France.
During this opening phase, they will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Starting in September, the hours will expand to 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday though Sunday.
