A new pizza joint specializing in wood-fired sourdough pizza pies is getting ready to open its doors soon in Coral Gables.
The restaurant is called Pizza Bear and it is coming to 1831 Ponce de Leon Boulevard. That’s the former home of the MKT Kitchen.
Based on its social media history, it looks like Pizza Bear has done some pop-ups for charity and also previously operated as a food truck. Now they’re going brick-and-mortar in the Gables.
We haven’t seen a final menu for the new pizzeria, but we know they serve up whole and half pies as well as breadsticks with their puffy sourdough dough. Wings are also featured on the menu.
No word yet when Pizza Bear is opening, but they are actively hiring staff so we shouldn’t be too far out.
