A well-known sushi restaurant coming to South Miami has officially announced its opening date.
Sushi Sake will open its doors at its new location at 5829 Southwest 73rd Street next Monday, June 8.
It was just a month ago that The Burn Miami first reported that Sushi Sake would be taking over a vacant space at that address.
The space was previously the home to a similar restaurant concept called Kiko Sushi. That establishment closed earlier this year.
Sushi Sake previously had a location along South Dixie closer to UM in the University Shopping Center. However, the retail center is scheduled to be demolished and turned into an apartment complex.
So the owners of Sushi Sake are relocating that store to South Miami.
The brand has dozens of locations across South Florida, including one in downtown Coral Gables and one along South Dixie in Coconut Grove.
