A new Japanese eatery coming to downtown Coral Gables has officially announced its opening date.
It’s simply called Stand and it will start a soft opening at 98 Miracle Mile on Thursday, June 4.
A soft opening is when a restaurant or business opens without a lot of hoopla and promotion in order to give its team a chance to get some experience and make sure everything is running smoothly.
The Burn Miami first broke the news about Stand coming to the Gables back in March.
That’s the corner space that previously was home to Mai Sushi Tapas & Bar.
Stand is the brainchild of the team over at the Shingo omakase on Alhambra Circle a few blocks away.
The restaurant is a casual eatery during the day offering items such as their sandos – including an Egg Salad sando, a Chicken Katsu sando, and a Tonkatsu sando with crispy pork cutlets.
There are savory toasts such as Corn Bechamel toast and a Sweet Potato + Honey toast. And there are both sweet and savory shio pans – a buttery baked bread stuffed with ingredients.
They also have coffee, matcha and other beverages as well.
