At long last, the much-anticipated Cantina Leon restaurant is holding its grand opening in Coral Gables this week – and we’ve got a first look at the extensive menu.
The Burn Miami has been reporting on Cantina Leon for more than a year now – including the recent opening of Mercadito, a take-out shop behind the main restaurant.
But now the full Cantina Leon is ready for prime time. The big opening day is tomorrow – Thursday, May 21.
Located at The Plaza Coral Gables on Ponce de Leon Boulevard, the upscale restaurant specializes in Mexican-inspired cuisine.
The menu has classic starters like Guacamole and Queso Fundido. There are soups, salads, and quesadillas.
Heirloom corn tortilla tacos include Cochinita Pibil, Quesa-Birria, and Rib Eye. There are grilled steaks, a Leon Burger, and pork belly.
Of course, there is a full bar offering a variety of margaritas, palomas, martinis, and more.
