After 28 years, Einstein Bros. Bagels closes in South Miami

A longtime South Miami breakfast spot has closed its doors – apparently for good if you can believe the signs hanging in the window.

Originally opening in April 1998, the Einstein Bros. Bagels shop at 5946 South Dixie Highway has closed its doors after 28 years in business.

Handwritten signs hanging in the windows read “This location is permanently closed.”

However, there is an air of mystery surround the closure. The store’s Google listing online says it is only “temporarily closed.”

Even odder, its entry on Yelp says the closure is also temporary and that it will reopen on January 1, 2027.

From Yelp

We have sent a message to the Einstein Bros. Bagels headquarters for more information about any possible future return of the store.

But in the meantime, customers will need to get their bagels and coffees somewhere else for now.
