South Miami has a new barbecue joint – La Traila Texas Craft Barbecue has officially opened its doors just off South Dixie Highway.

The new restaurant can be found at 5840 Southwest 71st Street and features a large indoor dining room and a big open air patio.
As we reported back in March, the restaurant is the brainchild of pitmaster and chef Mel Rodriguez who had a previous spot in Miami Lakes and was named Best Barbecue by the New Times in 2021.

The menu of meats at La Traila includes brisket, spare ribs, pork carnitas, pork belly, sausage, and turkey breast.
Sides include cornbread, potato salad, mac & cheese, and creamed corn. You can see the full La Traila menu here.
