The Ossobuco restaurant brand likes to tout that it’s “cooking with fire” – but that may have gotten a little too literal earlier this month.
Back on March 14, diners were enjoying their meals at the Ossobuco location in Coconut Grove when smoke suddenly started to fill the restaurant.
Everyone poured out on the street as fire trucks were quickly called. Fortunately, there were no injuries.
Now, the restaurant at 2801 Florida Avenue is closed while things get cleaned up and put right.

A message on the front window reads in part: “Unfortunately we experienced some electrical issues at the restaurant and for safety reasons we are temporarily closed while we complete inspections and repairs.”
“We look forward to welcoming you back soon,” it goes on to say.
No word how long the closure will last. In the meantime, fans of Ossobuco are encouraged to patronize the Wynwood location, found at 62 Northwest 27th Street.
