At long last, it looks like the much-anticipated Frankie & Wally’s Gourmet Market & Deli has an opening date for its new location in Coral Gables.
According to a post shared on social media, the new shop at 216 Palermo Avenue will start a soft opening on Wednesday, February 18.
Frankie & Wally’s first got famous for its much-hyped lasagna and the local food truck they operated.
Then, roughly three years ago, the team of Frankie & Wally – who met in culinary school – decided to open their first brick-and-mortar location to sell not only their lasagna, but deli sandwiches, salads, and other gourmet items.
They secured the Palermo Avenue building, which includes a lovely rear patio dining space, but then the timeline stretched out.
Now, the end of that wait is in sight with the word that Frankie & Wally’s will start welcoming guests in two weeks.
Remember, a soft opening is a time for a new business to work out any kinks in the system and let the staff get some hands-on training before a grand opening event and bigger hype ensues.
