At long last, work is underway on a new restaurant coming to the Gables – one that is expected to be specialize in Italian and Argentinian cuisine.
It was way back in March that The Burn Miami first broke the news about plans for a new restaurant called Cocoliche to come to 65 Miracle Mile.
That’s the former home of The Gramercy restaurant which closed in 2023.
Now, a work crew was spotted inside the large space, which has been pretty much gutted of the decor and fixtures from The Gamercy.

Assuming that it is still Cocoliche going into that spot, details remain scarce.
Cocoliche was actually the name of a pidgin language that was used by Italian immigrants to Argentina from the late 1800s to the late 1900s.
The language blended simplified elements from Italian and Spanish so the two communities could speak to each other.
Signage on the restaurant’s windows indicate pasta will be a focus of the menu. And a manager a nearby restaurant had told us that they had heard the new restaurant would feature Argentinian and Italian dishes.
This is all still more supposition than confirmed details. We’ll keep digging — and now that work is underway, answers should be coming soon.
