Tokyo Tuna opening new location in South Miami

A new sushi restaurant is in the works for South Miami. It will be the second location for an upscale Japanese restaurant that got its start downtown on Brickell Avenue.

The Burn Miami has learned that Tokyo Tuna will be opening its newest location at 5800 Southwest 73rd Street. That’s at the corner with Southwest 58th Avenue.

The spot is the former home of the Ceviche Lovers restaurant.

“Our menu includes traditional Japanese dishes like gyoza, tataki, and edamame and our signature sushi rolls,” the Tokyo Tuna website reads. We also have salads, sashimi, sushi rolls with vegetarian and keto-friendly options, temaki cone hand rolls, and other fish and meat dishes.”

It looks like the original Tokyo Sushi opened at 1063 Brickell Plaza back in 2014.

An official opening date hasn’t been set yet, but we’re told they are hoping to start welcoming guests to the South Miami spot in the next few weeks.

The addition of Tokyo Tuna means an abundance of riches for sushi fans in the area. It was just last month that The Burn Miami broke the news about the opening of Kinsu Nikkei Sushi a few blocks away.
