A speakeasy style bar and music venue has opened for business in downtown Coral Gables. It’s called the Romeo Room.
Romeo Room is the brainchild of Chef Dani Chavez-Bello and his wife and business partner, Alexandra Oliveros Febres-Cordero.
They are the owners of the popular Babette restaurant at 301 Alcazar Avenue and – not coincidentally – the Romeo Room is located above Babette.
“Accessed via an enchanting spiral staircase, Romeo Room – the romantic spiritual sister to the couple’s culinary love letter downstairs – is a sophisticated escape from the everyday, draped in velvet, whimsy, and Old World charm,” a press release about the new venue reads.
Besides a craft cocktail menu and collection of Japanese whiskies, the Romeo Room also has a menu of small plates with dishes such as Croquetas de Jamón with Golden Osetra Caviar, Ibérico Cinco Jotas carved to order, and Truffled Mac & Cheese.
