1986 Steak House in the Grove updates target opening

A quick update to the progress happening at a new high-end steakhouse coming to Coconut Grove.

The team at 1986 Steak House has updated their timeline to opening. They are now looking to start welcoming customers in January if all goes smoothly.

The Burn Miami first broke the news back in April about 1986 Steak House coming to Mayfair in the Grove.

That’s the same retail center that is home to Carbone Vino, Avo Miami, and the Go Greek Yogurteria.

One of our reps passed by the space this week and work is still underway inside the large corner unit directly across the breezway from Carbone Vino.

Previously, the folks behind 1986 had said they were targeting a November opening, but as often happens in restaurant construction, that date needed to slide a little bit. January is now the latest target.

While the menu for the restaurant is still under wraps, we know it will be an Argentinian-style steakhouse.

Meanwhile, the cocktail program at 1986 is being created by the folks at Tres Monos, a trendy bar located in Buenos Aires.
