Pin Pan Pollo, Shojo’s Dojo debut in the Gables this week

A fun new dining and drinking experience is getting set to debut this week in Coral Gables. It’s being billed as “Florida’s First Sake Brewery & Bar with Miami’s Favorite Fried Chicken.”

Here’s what’s happening: Shojo’s Dojo and Pin Pan Pollo are teaming up for a new nighttime restaurant on Giralda Avenue in the Gables.

The two establishments will be sharing the space that by day is the home to the Threefold Cafe. That’s at 141 Giralda along the street’s popular pedestrian promenade.

Threefold is only open for morning and early afternoon hours. It’s closed in the evening. So it makes great business sense to invite an evening user to take over at night.

Opening day is this Thursday, November 13 and going forward, the Shojo’s Dojo X Pin Pan Pollo combo will be open evenings on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

A grand opening party is scheduled for Friday evening, November 14, with a DJ providing music and a “sake breaking ceremony” at 8 p.m.

Pin Pan Pollo features a menu that focuses on chicken wings in a variety of cool flavors including Santero, Spicy Korean, Garlic Parm, and Guyaba y Queso.

Bonus points to the brand for naming their naked wings “Haulover” after the famed clothing optional beach.

They also have chicken sandwiches in the same line-up of flavors.

Shojo’s Dojo specialty is craft beers, finely crafted sake and unique sake cocktails.

Both brands have been active in South Florida in recent years – Pin Pan has an outlet in downtown Miami and Shojo’s Dojo had a spot previously in Westchester.
