Coconut Grove

Cozy new speakeasy bar opens in the Grove this week

Exciting times in Coconut Grove as the new Mae’s Room speakeasy-style bar announces its opening date. And we’ve got your first look at Mae’s cocktail menu.

The big day is tomorrow – Tuesday, November 18. Mae’s Room will open at 5 p.m. – no reservations, walk-ins only.

The Burn Miami first broke the news about Mae’s Room back in August – one of three new establishments coming to 3444 Main Highway in the Grove.

All are from a collaboration between the Ariete Hospitality Group, the team at Mae’s Group, and mixologist Tom Lasher-Walker of The ScapeGoat on Miami Beach.

As we reported, the first – Chuggie’s, a new frita and soft serve fast-casual restaurant – officially opens today, Monday, November 17.

Now, Mae’s Room will open on Tuesday. The third new spot will be Drinking Pig BBQ, which will sit nestled in between Chuggie’s and Mae’s Room. Opening date still TBD.

All three are located adjacent to the popular Chug’s Diner and its open-air patio.

Mae’s Room is described as “a spirited cocktail den where classic drinks, soulful music, and warm hospitality come together in an intimate, living room-inspired setting.”

The list of libations includes the Diamond Fizz with gin, lemon, sugar, egg white and sparkling wine; the Penicillin with blended malt scotch, lemon, ginger, honey, and an islay scotch float; and Espresso Martini Deluxe with vodka, Mr. Black coffee liqueur, and espresso.

You can check out the full cocktail menu below. Food is available at Mae’s Room as well – it will come from the the kitchen at Chuggie’s a few feet away. You can see the Chuggie’s menu below too.
