It was just earlier this month that The Burn Miami broke the news that the Bored Cuban brand was going to open a new location in South Miami – and now we spotted temporary window signage touting the new restaurant.
Bored Cuban is taking over the former longtime home of Sushi Maki at 5812 Sunset Drive. After 25 years on Sunset, Sushi Maki closed that location earlier this summer.
Bored Cuban already has two locations in the area – one at 831 Northwest 42nd Avennue and the other at 1053 Brickell Plaza.
Both locations are affiliated with Latin Cafe 2000 locations and – indeed – both brands have the same ownership.
Bored Cuban is a Cuban bakery and restaurant with a modern twist – offering sandwiches, wraps, bowls, açai bowls, traditional Cuban bakery items, cafecitos and more.

They also have “pixas” – a Cuban version of a flatbread. You can check out the full Bored Cuban menu on the company’s website here.
Still no word on when the Bored Cuban team hopes to open the SoMi location. We’ll report back when we get an update.
