The long-awaited new two-story Publix grocery store opened its doors last week in Coral Gables, located just off South Dixie Highway.
The address for what is being called the Riviera Plaza store is 1542 South Dixie Highway.
The new Publix includes a parking garage with elevators and escalators running between the levels.
There is also a small seating area near the deli where customers can relax and enjoy their Pub Subs – or in our case – some Publix fried chicken.
Interestingly, the old, original Publix in the neighborhood on Monza Avenue sits just a block away – and is apparently still open. That seems highly unlikely to last, but for now – you can still enjoy a spot where old-school “shopping is a pleasure.”
