An update for you today. If you haven’t been by the Shops at Merrick Park recently, construction is officially underway at the upcoming La Pecora Bianca restaurant there.
The new restaurant is taking over the space the was previously the Italian restaurant Villagio.
The space is entirely surrounded by a chain link fence and some of the patio and sidewalk area has been torn up. Doors were also open to the interior and it appears work is underway inside as well.
La Pecora Bianca means The White Sheep in Italian – and yes, the new restaurant will specialize in Italian cuisine.
According to the brand’s website, there are already six La Pecora Bianca locations in New York City.
Assuming the menu in the Gables will be similar to the ones in NYC, diners can expect dishes such as Crispy Artichokes, Whipped Ricotta, Chicken Parmesan, a Toscano Salad, Branzino, and a variety of different pasta dishes.
No opening date for the new restaurant has been announced yet.
La Pecora Bianca isn’t the only new eatery headed to the Shops at Merrick Park. As The Burn Miami reported the other day, another NYC brand – Sushi Bondi – is planning a new location there as well. You can see that story here.
