An elegant new waterfront restaurant called La Sponda is in the works for Grove Isle just offshore from Coconut Grove – and now we have new images of what it will look like.
The Burn Miami was the first to tell readers about La Sponda back in June.
The restaurant will be a centerpiece amenity at CMC Group’s new Vita at Grove Isle boutique luxury condominium under construction on the private 20-acre island.
La Sponda means “The Shore” in Italian and dishes inspired by the seashore will be at the heart of what is being described as “coastal Italian cuisine.”
The restaurant is coming from the fine folks at Gioia Hospitality Group, the same restaurateurs who operate the new Daniel’s Steakhouse in Coral Gables, as well as two more restaurants in Fort Lauderdale.
No official date has been announced yet. Originally, the team behind La Sponda was aiming for late 2025, but now we are hearing early 2026 is the likely target.
