Frankie & Wally’s announces target opening in the Gables

It’s the news plenty of folks have been waiting for – Frankie & Wally’s is back in action and has announced a rough target for opening their new Coral Gables location.

This week, the F&W team wrote the following on social media: “To our community who has waited so patiently (and who kept asking when the lasagnas, sandwiches, and cookies would be back!) — we are so sorry for the long wait, but beyond grateful for your support every step of the way. We’re thrilled to share that our new market will officially open early Winter 2025 in Coral Gables.”

As The Burn Miami reported back in April, Frankie & Wally’s got its start as a catering and food truck business back in 2020. In 2022, they announced they would be opening a brick-and-mortar storefront in the Gables.

The location is at 216 Palermo Avenue just off Ponce de Leon Boulevard. When we peeked in through the windows a few months ago, we saw a fully formed market and deli that looked frozen in time. There was no word on what was behind the delay in opening.

Regardless, now we know Frankie & Wally’s is coming. When we passed by the building today, we could see lights on inside. Hooray!

The menu is expected to include New York-style sandwiches, rotisserie chicken, healthy salads, and an on-site coffee bar along with products from local artisan food makers.

We’ll keep readers posted when an official opening date is announced.
