An upscale New York City-based sushi restaurant continues to expand in Florida and now it’s bringing one of its locations to Coral Gables.
We’re talking about Bondi Sushi. The company already has nine locations open, according to its website – six in NYC and three here in the Miami area.
We’ll soon be able to add the Shops at Merrick Park in the Gables to that list. Bondi Sushi has take over the space the previously occupied by Brasserie Central, a French-themed restaurant.
That’s right across the road from the Yard House sports bar restaurant and word is work has already started on the new space.

The restaurant is named for the famed Bondi Beach in Australia and it leans into evoking the relaxed vibe of a day at the beach.
The menu at Bondi Sushi includes appetizers such as Miso Soup, Spicy Edamame, and Shishito Peppers.
Bondi also offers sashimi, crispy rice, nigiri, and a variety of different sushi rolls and dipping sauces. You can see the main menu along with the drinks menu below.
It’s too soon to know exactly when Bondi Sushi will open at Merrick Park, so stay tuned.
