Folks in the Gables with a sweet tooth will soon have a new way to get their fill of sugary treats. A candy shop specializing in Swedish and Scandinavian candies has announced its opening date.
Back in March, The Burn Miami was the first media outlet to report on plans for the new ScandyCandy shop at 241 Miracle Mile.
Now, the grand opening is almost here. ScandyCandy will start welcoming customers on Saturday, August 9. The first 300 customers will get a $30 store credit.
The shop – which already has a robust online store – is opening its first brick-and-mortar location.
Customers will find sweet and tart candies in a variety of flavors, plus chocolates and other items.
The shop is the brainchild of two brothers – born and raised in Sweden – who fondly remember the tradition of lördagsgodis – or “Saturday candy” – where kids could splurge on sweets one day a week. That’s what they’re trying to recapture with ScandyCandy.
