We’ve got an important update on a new Mediterranean restaurant headed to Coconut Grove. We’re talking about Ava MediterrAegean.
Back in May, The Burn Miami was the first media outlet to report about Ava’s plans to open at 2889 McFarlane Road in the Grove.
That spot is the former Peacock Garden restaurant that closed in 2022.
Construction continues on the space and now we have an on a target opening. Before, it was just listed as “coming soon,” but now they have shared that they are aiming for this fall – specifically Thursday, November 6.
(Fingers crossed they hit that target – in our years of covering restaurant news, we know that dates often have to push due to unexpected delays in construction or permitting.)

Ava – which already has one location in Winter Park, Florida – is coming from the Riviera Dining Group, the same team that is also behind several other local favorites including MILA on Miami Beach and Claudie on Brickell Avenue.
It will focus on Mediterranean food and dishes and flavors from the Cycladic Islands in Greece.
Some of the items offered include offer Mediterranean Seabass Carpaccio, Athenian Whole Lobster Pasta, Truffle Cream Spaghetti, and a Marinated Australian Rack of Lamb. You can see the full dinner menu from the Winter Park location below.
