Chop Steakhouse announces opening date in the Grove

The new Chop Steakhouse & Bar coming to Cocowalk in Coconut Grove has officially announced its opening date. The big day is Wednesday, June 11.

As The Burn Maimi has been reporting, Chop has taken over the roughly 10,000 s.f. ground floor unit that was previously The Key Club restaurant. The Key Club closed last June.

Chop is a Canadian brand with 18 locations spread across our neighbor to the north, according to the brand’s website. Now they are venturing into the United States with their debut location here in South Florida.

The restaurant is expected to be open for lunch and dinner hours with a happy hour Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. They will also have a brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.

We haven’t seen the Coconut Grove menu yet, but the Canadian version features appetizers such as Beef Carpaccio, a Sicilian Hummus, and French Onion Soup.

Entrées offered include a Seafood Linguine, Baby Back Ribs, Oven Roasted Chicken, and a Pistachio Crusted Cod.

But the star of the show is the steak lineup. They have a Prime Rib, a Centre Cut New York, a Smoked Rib Eye, a Filet Mignon, and more. Toppers include Classic Béarnaise, Blue Cheese, Peppercorn Sauce, Chimichurri, and Roasted Garlic & Shallots. You can see the full version of that menu here.
