Temporary window signage has gone up at the new location of the Bagel Emporium & Grille restaurant – which is being forced to move from its longtime Coral Gables home.
The local eatery – which originally opened way back in 1975 – is moving from its spot on South Dixie Highway to a space tucked in by the Shops at Merrick Park.
The move is being precipitated by plans to turn the property where its currently located into housing for students at the U.
Bagel Emporium is taking a corner unit in the 4000 Ponce office and retail building located at Ponce de Leon Boulevard and Bird Road. The exact address is 225 Altara Avenue.
While no firm date has been set for the move, an employee tells us it may happen sometime this summer.
