AVA MediterrAegean headed to Coconut Grove

A new restaurant specializing in Mediterranean and Aegean cuisine is headed to Coconut Grove.

The Burn Miami has learned that AVA MediterrAegean (there’s a bit of a mouthful to pronounce) is reportedly in the works for 2889 McFarlane Road in the Grove.

That spot is the former Peacock Garden restaurant that closed in 2022.

The property was reportedly bought by the Riviera Dining Group (RDG) that same year and now they are apparently working on bringing one of the restaurant concepts — AVA – to that spot. We’re told work is already underway on the space.

RDG has one other AVA MediterrAegean location. That one is in Winter Park, Florida.

The menu at AVA leans into seafood, as one would expect with a name that includes two seas. They offer Yellowtail Crudo, Mediterranean Seabass Carpaccio, Athenian Whole Lobster Pasta, and a Greek Branzino Filet, among many other dishes.

They also have a 7-ounce Creekstone Filet Mignon, Truffle Cream Spaghetti, and a Marinated Australian Rack of Lamb, among various “earth” dishes (as opposed to the sea). You can see the full current AVA dinner menu below.

No word yet on when when AVA will open in the Grove. Currently, the website just says “Coming Soon.”

The hospitality group RDG is also the team behind several other local favorites including MILA on Miami Beach and Claudie on Brickell Avenue.
