Buccan updates opening timeline in Coral Gables

Chef Clay Conley is bringing his popular Buccan restaurant concept to the heart of Coral Gables and now the restaurant space is officially under construction

Plus, we have an update from the Buccan team on when they hope to be ready to start welcoming guests.

A representative for the restaurant tells The Burn Miami that they are targeting an opening this fall, if all goes smoothly.

Buccan will open at 100 Miracle Mile in a 9,600 s.f. space that will become home to not one, not two, but three different restaurant concepts.

One will be the main Buccan, an American-style bistro with evening hours. The second will be Imoto, a full-service Japanese restaurant, also with evening hours. And the third will be the Buccan Sandwich Shop, a more casual daytime concept.

Each restaurant will reportedly have its own separate entrance from Miracle Mile, or in the case of Imoto, off Galiano Street.

The Burn Miami went by the site where construction is in full swing. A peek in the windows shows that they are currently in the “roughing in” phase, which means they are putting in plumbing, electricity, and other utilities before they seal up the floors and walls and start building out the restaurant.

If you’re not familiar with the brand, Conley opened the original Buccan in 2011 in Palm Beach. It was a huge hit and now his team says they are excited to bring Buccan to Coral Gables.

The menu at Buccan features dishes such as Maine Lobster Aguachile, Lions Mane Mushroom Salad, Short Rib Empanadas, and Butter Poached Alaskan Halibut. You can check out the full Buccan lineup here.

The current Imoto offers up treats like Peking Duck Tacos, Hamachi Crispy Rice, and a variety of sashimi, nigiri, and rolls. You can see the full Imoto menu here.

Over at the Buccan Sandwich Shop, there will likely be items such as the Beef Carpaccio sandwich, the Cubano 2.0, and the Smoked Yellowfin Tuna Salad Sandwich. There should also be a make-your-own sandwich option where customers choose their ingredients.

Fall 2025 is the goal. We’ll keep you posted on Buccan’s progress.
