Finally some progress to report on the plans for smash burger purveyor Skinny Louie to open a new location in Coral Gables. The folks over at Skinny Louie HQ tell us they are aiming for a May opening.
The Skinny Louie signage has been up for months on the front door of 153 Giralda Avenue. That’s the former home to Chala Taqueria along the pedestrian mall portion of Giralda.
With confirmation of a target opening, things are starting to roll. We also noticed that Skinny Louie has “help wanted” notices posted on online jobs sites for the Coral Gables location.
According to the brand’s website, Skinny Louie has three locations open so far — in Wynwood, Little Havana, and at the Kaseya Center. But they have many more in the works.
Besides the upcoming Coral Gables spot, locations are planned for South Miami, Aventura, West Palm, and Dania Beach, plus they’re expanding to New York City as well.
The restaurant’s menu is exceedingly simple — a handful of different kinds of smash burgers, plus fries and milkshakes. That’s basically it. You can check out the Skinny Louie lineup by clicking “Our Menu” here.
