Temporary signage has gone up in the windows of the upcoming Boustan restaurant location on Douglas Road, right by Miracle Mile.
Boustan is a Canada-based restaurant chain the specializes in shawarma — roasted meats — served up in a variety of ways. The Miami New Times has reported that the spot on Douglas will be the brand’s first in the United States.
The space is at 2283 SW 37th Avenue — right next door to a Pei Wei Asian Kitchen and a Chipotle restaurant.
The menu at Boustan includes chicken and beef shawarma served up on baked or rolled pitas or in a bowl. They also offer falafel and vegetarian items.

Interestingly, Boustan also takes a cue from its Canadian roots and offers a variety of poutines. If you’re not familiar, poutine usually features French fries topped with gooey cheese curds and gravy.
Boustan features a Classic Poutine, poutines with chicken, beef, or mixed shawarma, and a Garlic Supreme Poutine. You can see the full Boustan menu here.
We’ll keep an eye on construction at the site and try to get an update on when Boustan plans to open. Stay tuned.
