A new restaurant has been announced for The Plaza development in the heart of Coral Gables. It’s called Mottai and it will specialize in Japanese cuisine.
“A bold reimagining of Japanese culinary mastery through signature techniques,” reads the restaurant’s nascent Facebook page. “An experience defined by artistry and detail in every dish, creating a journey through harmonious flavors and personalized hospitality.”
Mottai will be joining a slew of new restaurants open or planning to open in The Plaza, including Celosa Cafe & Lounge, CVI.CHE 105, Mika, Fogo de Chão, Sanguich de Miami, and the Zuccaly Italian Food Hall.
It appears that Mottai may be the new name of the previously announced Su Japanese restaurant that had been planned for the same address in The Plaza — 2881 Ponce de Leon Boulevard.
No official opening date for Mottai has been announced. The latest word from the team there is sometime this spring.
