A new geltao shop is in the works for downtown Coral Gables and it’s got authentic roots in Italy. It’s called RivaReno Gelato.
RivaReno is opening a new location at 104 Giralda Avenue, according to building permit on the front door. That’s in the portion of Giralda that is a restaurant-filled pedestrian mall.
RivaReno got its start in Bologna, Italy and now has roughly 30 locations around the world, including one American outpost in downtown Miami. It appears Coral Gables will be their second location stateside.
The menu at RivaReno is filled with classic flavors such as Caffè, Pistachio, Chocolate Chip, and a Vaniglia Bourbon – or Bourbon Vanilla.
They also offer specialty flavors like Menta Stracciata, Blonde Chocolate, and New York New York — which has pecans and a bit of maple syrup.

It’s worth noting that a Freddo Traditional Gelato store sits at the other end of the same block of Giralda. Bring on the dueling gelato shops!
